5 Most Important Concepts/Skills Learned:

1) The reach of YouTube video postings—as we are beginning our projects where we showcase an argument and provide our unique stance we have the potential to reach millions of people who would listen to our individual perspectives

2) The complexities behind creating a (seemingly) simple YouTube video. The first project really opened my eyes to the difficulties of creating a YouTube video. As the creator you must take into account the content as a whole and then focus on supporting that content with complimentary voice, image and text. I personally found it difficult to make all aspects of my video seem cohesive

3) Tech skills in general—learning how to use Audacity, Garage Band, Photoshop and iMovie, etc.

4) The idea of a Beta draft—the fact that a “final” draft is never truly complete—there are always new and different angles and variables to take into account. It seems that growth and change in a video will always be present

5) The ethical issues associated with building messages through digital technologies—i.e. copyright laws, slander, fraudulent claims, etc.
